The granny suite in the back yard had a strong Oder of bleach with mildew smell, spiders and the shower in it was full of spiderwebs. We couldn’t get the WI-FI to work. the kitchen was a great size for our group of 8 adults. House was clean. We all slept good. Would recommend this home for the location. We called about the wi-fi and had quick response. "

We found droppings under the bed in the room with two twins, and actually saw a mouse (or rat?) scurrying on the floor in the back unit. Other than that experience, we found the experience pleasant. In general, appearance at first glance looks very tidy and clean. However, when you stay in one place for 30 days you see things that need to be fixed or payed a little more attention to. Front yard is fenced in so our little people could have fun without a worry of them getting in the street. "

"This is a very convenient location. With a family member having to use an electric scooter, the location was perfect for him to travel to activities. Driveway accommodates 4 cars. "I would definitely give my experience with Coastal Vacation Rentals and the property a 5 Star rating based on a 1-5 point system. From my first phone call, as a novice, I had a ton of questions and they were cheerfully. The property was amazing. So clean and it appears to have been updated recently. Stocked with all basic necessities, as well. TV in all bedrooms as well as living room. Nice furniture, not beat up, or cast off furniture but comfortable couch & recliner in living room. There were only 2 things that come to mind that I wasn't happy with were: No water pressure in the back cottage and the fridge didn't cool down very well. Absolutely a perfect location for walking to the beach, sightseeing by foot and for dining. I loved everything about our trip and definitely, when we return, I would do it all the same and stay at the Dolliver home. A big Thank You to Coastal. "

"We used the space to house four families who were attending a wedding in Arroyo Grande. It provided us the opportunity to bring multiple people together, the space in the front yard was amazing to relax and the location in comparison to the beach was perfect. Appreciated the back access to the room in the garage, the covered backyard, and the room in the back. We have decided that this is our vacation home for Pismo, hopefully it is always available when we need it. "

"Nice bungalow with a guest house in the back. No view of the ocean but just two blocks away. Fun to watch the people walk by and be close enough to walk to everything. Big kitchen and dining area made the house feel bigger than it is. "

"Our family stayed 5 nights in this beautiful home in downtown Pismo. The only negative was the back house smelled musty. All the beds are Queen sized, and all squeaked loudly."

"Our rental house was perfect for our needs. A great open gathering area in kitchen/living room and a nice outdoor space in back, as well. Only complaint was that shower in separate cottage had low water pressure and the temperature fluctuated for no identifiable reason. Other showers were fine. "

"Absolutely great house and experience. Large living area - living room and kitchen/dining area. Great little patio in the back for meals and games. Inside very well furnished. Close enough to the beach. Nice to have driveway parking that can accommodate 4 vehicles. Only issue that we had was that the refrigerator wasn't working well when we got there. These things happen - the upside was that Coastal (and the owners) jumped on it quickly, tried once to fix it, and when that didn't work, they immediately had a new one brought in. Moral of the story is that these are also great people to rent from. Potential renters should know that the tradeoff for a great house and location is that the traffic noise can be bothersome for some people. didn't bother us and the house is air-conditioned in case you are bothered. All and all a great base for a wonderful vacation experience."

"This is a wonderful house for a great beach vacation getaway. We comfortably fit 6 adults and four small children in this house/ back house. It is only one block from the beach and downtown. We are already planning on staying at this house again next year. The house was clean but the rugs and carpets could definitely use a cleaning."

Response from Coastal Vacation Rentals: I am so sorry about the carpets, it is almost impossible to clean between check-ins, as we have only a 4nk uo window. We are looking for a dry cleaner, so far none in our area. We are so pleased that other than that you enjoyed the house. Thank you for your comments.

Close to the beach and to the downtown area; perfect for walking and parking is provided. Owner and management are very responsive and committed to meeting guest needs."

"I've always used Coastal Vacation Rental ever since. The office receptionist are very helpful. There's a lot of choices to rent, small & big ones. Only negative I have is the garbage can, it was not picked up (Mon) so stayed on the street. We did not have any garbage cans to dump our own. We placed it on the side of the house in plastic bags."

"This property worked very well for our family, eight stayed there and three were in Grover Beach. Very central location and the driveway parking was great."

"Generally, this is a great location and property, especially for larger groups (we had eight adults).

We love the location and proximity to town and beach.
Everything was clean and supplies were ample for the group.
Love the air conditioning this year. All appliances worked.

A few problems which could easily be fixed by a handy man on an afternoon. Our only complaint is that we encountered many of these issues last year, notified the management company about them, and still found them a year later.

1. Bathtub glass doors are hanging by only the top tracking wheels. It’s a serious accident waiting to happen. Bottom of glass doors should be secured in a double track.
2. Bathtub has no stopper/plug.
3. Patio light over the back door still doesn’t work. (same as last year). Needs a bulb?
4. Pocket door in “master bath”, if all the way in, doesn’t come out. Needed a tool to close and has a scraping sound upon opening.
5. “Master bath” sink stopper is broken. Had to prop it up to keep it open.
6. Cottage bedroom chest-of-drawers are missing pulls.
7. Stove top glass/ceramic is still broken from last year.

"This house was exactly what we were looking for in a vacation rental. It was so close to the beach and all the shops we never had to drive. The 4 bedrooms was the right amount we needed, fully furnished and with a TV in every room. I would definitely stay at this house again. "

Minor repairs needed when we checked in. One of the blinds in the L/R was broken and the studio in the back smelled....musky. We opened the windows and doors and it was better. Chaulk or some type of sealant is needed between the toilet and flooring. The would probably help remove the smell.
