"Waking up to the view of the ocean and falling asleep to the waves was the most relaxing four days we've had in years. Walk half a block to get a coffee then down to the beach to see a giant humpback whale breeching out of the water and spouting for two hours. The apartment is clean, well furnished, safe and light and bright. You never have to get in your car again once you are in Avila, walk to dinner, breakfast, shopping, the oldest working pier in California and the Bob Jones trail along the golf course. We have stayed here twice now and love it. "

"Our rental was fabulous. We could see the dolphins and seals swimming in the waves right from our living room window and rush down to the beach in 2 minutes. With a coffee in hand from Kracken Coffee just a half a block away we could stand in our sweats first thing in the morning right on the beach. There is nothing like walking around Avila Beach at night when all the tourists have left and the whole place feels like your own personal town with the sound of the waves crashing and only our footsteps walking on main street. "

"The location was great. And the set up was good for our daughters who would go back and forth to beach or ice cream on the little strip. The first floor was perfect with the hose since we had boogie boards and sand. So if you just want beach days, this is ideal. However the bed was so uncomfortable and the tenants above us were so loud. So if you intend to stay inside all day and night in the lapse of luxury this might not be a good fit. But it worked for us and would stay again bringing along a foam mattress pad and better pillows. "

"This little apartment is a perfect place to stay for your beach getaway. With windows overlooking the water and pier, a small kitchen (note: no oven!) and so close to everything in 'town', you can't beat it for the price. I started each day with a cup of coffee on the couch with the windows open listening to the waves and birds. It was heaven! I was also really appreciative of the thorough cleaning they do between guests to slow the spread of Covid-19. When we arrived I just ran the dishwasher with all the plates, cups and utensils I thought we'd use. There were some that didn't look totally clean, but that was an easy fix. I'd also recommend bringing some hand soap and kleenex, as there wasn't any/enough in the unit. My one caution would be that if you're sensitive to noise, the people walking in the unit above might disturb you. All in all, I can't wait to return and stay here again."

"We so enjoyed our condo with an amazing living room view down to the pier and water! We made that walk several times. The condo was very clean (except for the coffee maker which we did not use, it had not been cleaned for a while). The size of the condo was comfortable and furnishings very tasteful and comfortable, and the bed was wonderful....and we're picky!!!!! We were close to the darling town of Avila much charm and variety of eateries, and fun shops!! A great stay we can highly recommend!!!! One problem is that we did not get final directions with the entry code. We had to contact the management company then the code they gave us was incorrect...we did finally get the correct code and were able to enter the unit. After that all went smoothly!! "

"This truly is a fantastic location. However, it was very dirty. To be this close to the beach and not be able to see the view you paid for because the windows/screens are so dirty, was a real bummer. The windowsills and window tracks were dirty and dead bugs on the windowsill. Bathroom fans full of dust. Not sure why there is an empty hand soap dispenser and dirty tooth brush holder in the bathroom. would be nice if these items were clean and full or not there at all. The property is VERY noisy. You can hear everyone walking and talking upstairs and next door.
The fan in our bedroom was broken. The stools at the island not wiped down and dusty.
The entire outside of the property needs to be power washed. The doors into each unit are covered in black dirt and if you lean on the door so are your clothes.
I did not alert the property management company to our issues because we had a very busy weekend and did not have time to do so. I appreciate the opportunity to let you know of our experience. As a family we did rent the entire complex and the issues that we experienced, were the same in all the other units. Very dirty.

"This is a great little place. Location is one block away from the beach and all the little shops. The unit itself is very clean and well maintained. A few things to note though. Since this is in a complex there are units above, below or right next to you so sound will travel. It's not sound proof so noise will travel through the walls and ceilings."

"We have stayed in this building before but in Unit A - this is Unit B with a better view of the ocean. It was clean and well stocked and just a block from the beach. Would have liked a manual telling us how to use the remotes for the TV....but we are seniors and most young folks would have known how to use them more quickly."

"It was a perfect anniversary weekend getaway. Very clean and modern. The view from the living room was spectacular! You could walk to everything in Avila, which was great. The beach was 1 block away, about a 2 minute walk. The unit was perfect size for 2 adults, bed was very comfy."

"We loved our little place, it was a block from the beach and just up from my favorite coffee place "joe mama's".
One of the best windows in the unit ended up not being able to open so we were a little disappointed that we couldn't get that coastal breeze. It was horribly hot that weekend 96 at the coast. Bed was comfortable and enjoyed the little kitchen area and very large bathroom. You don't a nightlight because the large green exit signs will be plenty. I was hoping for a little more get away feel. I would recommend the rental company as a nice place to deal with. I would stay again, but."

"We enjoyed the vacation rental very much! The restaurants, shopping, wine tasting, events at the golf course or just strolling along the ocean...all were within walking distance. "This is a really nice property, clean and a block from the beach. The kitchen is better equipped than the pictures show with a cooktop, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. The Friday evening farmers market was also a lot of fun. The only issue we had to do with the warm weather. If there were a ceiling fan in the living room and bedroom it would have made this a perfect trip. A minor issue on a fantastic experience. We will be back."

"We enjoyed our stay in Avila at the San Luis Apartment. It is super close to the main beach and loved the view from the dining room window. Perfect for two people. Very clean and modern. Parking lot in back with ramp access for disabled. We could easily walk into town for morning coffee and had a lovely dinner at the Custom House. Great location. I would surely stay there again. Only downside is having to drive to Pismo to pick up and drop off the keys. We live North of Avila so driving to Pismo at check in and check out was a bit inconvenient. Suggest a drop box in Avila for check out."
